Today is dare and extra ROBOTICS! Today we will also have our second volleyball game! WHAT AN EXCITING DAY!

Today the DARE officer will be coming into our classroom and talking to us about drug awareness. And we also get an hour and a half of robotics! What an exiting day! Tomorrow we will be going to the U of M and on thuresday to Voyager! For voyager remember to bring proper clothing (hats, gloves, boots, snowpants, warm jacket etc.)

We have finished building the robots and now are leaning to program it!

Jan. 6

Today we will be finishing building the robots. They are making great progress! We will be programming it soon! Also, we will be taking the S+ survey today! We have been helping the kindergartens for the past two days making their counting books. Today just the 6th graders will be putting the pictures on the computer and making a electronic counting book.

Ms. Moran here! Our bloggers have been too busy to blog. We're trying to work out a good system to keep the blog updated, but sometimes, school just gets in the way! So, I thought I'd at least post a few notes to keep people updated on what is going on in the New Year! We completed our clay animation videos before Winter Break, but still need to get them on YouTube and linked so everyone can see them!

We started Robotics on Monday. This will be a 6-8 week unit focusing on engineering and problem-solving skills, using Lego Mindstorms. Although our Robotics unit isn't new, the Mindstorms kit IS new to me....so it will be a learning experience for ALL of us!

And this week, we are using our digital photography and problem-solving skills to work with the Kindergartners as they make their digital photo counting books. You can see some of the photos and videos from their work below.
