Good Morning! Today its our class spelling bee! We do not have reading today, because of the band cconcert at 3:00pm. Today we also have track and feild day sign up sheets! Yesterday was Voyauger, It was really fun. We did Beaver ecology, Canoeing, Lumber jacking, and archery! Megan, Lizzie and Bethany's canoe tiped over, so did some other kids from differnt classes!

Good Morning! Today we have a practice MCA test. Actually Monday is the last day to bring in money for the school drive. So far we have a grand total of over 1,000 dollars. Today in science we are working on more Humdingers. In Ms. Moran's reading class today we are having a video conference with middle school kids in Arizona. Today we have our science investigation in the science lab. Yesterday we mixed CaClz (Calcium Chloride), NaHCO3 (Baking Soda), and Phenol Red Solutions to make a wonderful yellow warm liquid. I think that they might use it in hand warmers because it was very warm. There has 10 WHOLE days of February! HAVE YOU BEEN READING? Hi this is Lizzie reporting at home with the news around the world and back! Egypt is in crisis, they want to kick out there president! Last night Nightline sent out a reporter to Egypt and she got to talk to the vice president AND the president of Egypt! The president says that when he leaves there will be even BIGGER crisis! Our President Barak Obama says that he should tell the people of Egypt when he is planning on leaving, immediately because to crim rates in Egypt are sky rocketing and he must talk to his people. The people out side of the palace have posters that say he was a great president but he should step down. The president also says that he's going to die on Egupt soil and does never plan the flee for Egypt! What an brave president and honored president! Right here in Minnestota there has been illegal tasaring by police officers to patients in state hospitals for defenseless patents that wouldnt take there medicine or went out of controll. Today the DARE officer will be coming into our classroom and talking to us about drug awareness. And we also get an hour and a half of robotics! What an exiting day! Tomorrow we will be going to the U of M and on thuresday to Voyager! For voyager remember to bring proper clothing (hats, gloves, boots, snowpants, warm jacket etc.)

We have finished building the robots and now are leaning to program it!

Today we will be finishing building the robots. They are making great progress! We will be programming it soon! Also, we will be taking the S+ survey today! We have been helping the kindergartens for the past two days making their counting books. Today just the 6th graders will be putting the pictures on the computer and making a electronic counting book.

Ms. Moran here! Our bloggers have been too busy to blog. We're trying to work out a good system to keep the blog updated, but sometimes, school just gets in the way! So, I thought I'd at least post a few notes to keep people updated on what is going on in the New Year! We completed our clay animation videos before Winter Break, but still need to get them on YouTube and linked so everyone can see them!

We started Robotics on Monday. This will be a 6-8 week unit focusing on engineering and problem-solving skills, using Lego Mindstorms. Although our Robotics unit isn't new, the Mindstorms kit IS new to me....so it will be a learning experience for ALL of us!

And this week, we are using our digital photography and problem-solving skills to work with the Kindergartners as they make their digital photo counting books. You can see some of the photos and videos from their work below.
