Today is the big day, we all plan to work on our pictures for our clay animations. We have all worked so hard on our clay figures, backdrops, and story boards. Rmember the sub on wed. and thurs. Rmember the bribe.

December 4th - Insect Fair at the University of Minnesota

Ms. Moran blogging today! Many students in all three 6th grade classes attended the Insect Fair at the University of Minnesota today. It was a fantastic day full of fun and learning. The photos below show some shots of the students presenting, and some of the projects we saw.

December 2

We started building our  clay figures today. Using armature, we are creating a 'skeleton' for the figures, and will move on to tin foil, 'dirty' clay, and clean clay! Stay tuned to see the progress!

December 1 2010

Today we learned how to make clay people for clay animation. We added bulk to our people with tin foil. We worked on our storyboards for our animations. We all practised on our insect investigations for Saturday at the U of M.

Today, Ms. Moran got creative with our Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Recipes. She messed everything, fed Carter a plate, taught us that 'take out' could mean a date and not to remove, dropped jars and picked apart our excellent directions. See an example of her wacky cooking skills above.

  We're starting clay animation! To start learning about animation we watched Shrek and made flipbooks on our iPod touches. Today we'll be practicing presenting our Insect Investigations for U of M and the school Insect Fair!
